Pastor Sells ‘Holy Pens’ That Make Students Pass Exams Without Studying, Claims The More You Pay The More You Pass

Posted by doctore0 on October 26, 2015

HARARE – A Local prophet is raising more questions than answers after selling ballpoints to congregants during his church service on Sunday, claiming that they are anointed.
Prophet Sham Hungwe of House of Grace International Church, who operates at Machipisa Shopping Centre, distributed hundreds of pens to people who are about to sit for exams.

The pens which cost at least 15 cents were being sold for different amounts ranging between US$1 and US$20 depending on what you can afford.

Prophet Sham said those who are sitting for their exams only needed faith and the anointed pen to pass. “It is anointed and I declare passes when your children sit for exams; when you sit for your exams ,” he said.

With the ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level examinations around the corner, the pens sold like hot cakes and congregants were seen scrambling to the pulpit to get them.

“They (pens) are said to work for anyone who is sitting for any test. My son is not very bright and I think this will help him. With the knowledge he has acquired and this pen from the man of God, I think it is going to work.”

One female congregants parted ways with more than US$10 for a pen as they were told the more they give, the more their faith and the more their children will pass.

Christians Pray Against Atheist Group Trying To Stop Government Endorsement Of Religion

Posted by doctore0 on October 15, 2015

..Hmm and what does the bible say about this, lets check
When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6″But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.” Oops :)

Thai Buddhist monk horror film banned on fears it could ‘destroy’ faith

Posted by doctore0 on October 14, 2015

One film… faith crumbles :)

Bangkok (AFP) – A Thai horror film about Buddhist monks has been banned over fears it could “destroy” the kingdom’s majority faith, authorities said on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Culture has objected to certain parts of the film “Arbat” including a kissing scene and one where a monk is shown taking drugs.

The clergy have long been revered in overwhelmingly Buddhist Thailand but in recent years have been rocked by scandals including gambling and prostitution, as well as corruption at the increasingly wealthy temples propped by donations from the faithful.

“The movie has some scenes that will destroy Buddhism. If it is shown, people’s faith in Buddhism will deteriorate,” Somchai Surachatri, spokesman for Thailand’s National Office of Buddhism, told AFP.

Witchcraft and exorcism abuse rising in UK

Posted by doctore0 on October 12, 2015

Child abuse linked to exorcism and witchcraft accusations is on the rise, figures obtained by the BBC suggest.

The Metropolitan Police said there had been 60 crimes linked to faith in London so far this year. It saw reports double from 23 in 2013 to 46 in 2014.

Half of UK police forces do not record such cases and many local authorities are also unable to provide figures.

The NSPCC said authorities “need to ensure they are able to spot the signs of this particular brand of abuse”.

London is unique in having a police team, Project Violet, dedicated to this type of abuse.

Its figures relate to crime reports where officers have flagged a case as involving abuse linked to faith or belief. Many of the cases involve children

Is This 2015 or 1692? Woman Accused of Being a Witch Fired From Military Dental Clinic

Posted by doctore0 on October 7, 2015

Religion poisons everything

Accused of being a witch, an Air Force contractor working at a dental clinic at Fort Meade, Maryland, has been fired. Seriously.

Deborah Schoenfeld, a dental technician at the clinic, and a Hindu, was fired on September 2, immediately after filing a formal complaint about the religious harassment she was being forced to endure, which included being accused of witchcraft, bringing demons into the office, and being admonished that practicing yoga is “satanic” and will “cost (her) her soul.” The alleged reason given for her firing was that she was accused of using profanity in the workplace. She was told, however, that she did not have the right to know who her accusers were.

According to the Air Force Times, two of Schoenfeld’s former co-workers have confirmed her account of the workplace harassment she was subjected to by the devout Christians there, with one saying that she was referred to as a “Hindu witch.”

Schoenfeld, who wishes to return to her job, has turned to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), which has sent the following letter to the commander of this modern day Salem, where we hope they aren’t also using the dental practices of 1692 on our troops.

Vatican sends gay priests to be ‘cured’ at religious retreat

Posted by doctore0 on October 6, 2015

A row over the Vatican’s attitude towards gay priests has been stoked further by a claim that clergy with “homosexual tendencies” are sent to a religious retreat to be “cured”.

The Holy See was embarrassed by a senior Vatican official’s decision to come out as gay at the weekend, just as 270 bishops gathered in Rome to attend a synod on family issues.

As Vatican officials called Krzysztof Charamsa’s gesture “very serious and irresponsible”, it was claimed yesterday that priests suspected of being gay are often sent to a convent in the northern Italian city of Trento to “reflect”.

The convent’s role in trying to “cure” priests of homosexuality was revealed by a former priest who was thrown out of the Church three years ago for being gay. Mario Bonfante was forced to leave his parish in Sardinia, even though he had maintained his vow of celibacy.

“It’s a place where they help you to rediscover the straight and narrow. They wanted to ‘cure’ me but I refused to go,” he told ‘La Repubblica’ newspaper.

According to its website, it can offer priests “an open and tranquil environment in which they can confront their problems” with psychiatrists and psychologists on hand.

Father Gianluigi Pasto (71), the head of the convent, said: “Priests come to us for a period of formation and personal reflection. At the moment we have neither gay priests nor paedophile priests here. Certainly our job is to welcome everybody.”

The facility dealt with priests suffering from depression, alcoholism and who had “problems connected to sex”, he added.
