Pareidolia strikes again…

JC is it you... :P

JC is it you… :P

An image of Jesus is believed by worshippers to have appeared following a landslide.

The apparition is attracting hundreds of visitors to the San Francisco area of Putumayo, Colombia, since Saturday.

And some local landowners are cashing in on the ‘miracle’ – by charging visitors for access to view the figure, it has been reported.

A police presence has also been necessary to manage the crowds.

“If you believe in Jesus you will see your image ,” Ximena Rosero Arango, one of the many people who have come to the site to photograph the mountain told Eltiempo.com.

Christians Prepare For Martyrdom To Fight Gay Marriage

Posted by doctore0 on March 22, 2015

“A religious conservative broadcaster warned Christians to “prepare for martyrdom” if the U.S. Supreme Court sanctioned marriage equality.

Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association and host of a daily radio program, did not specify what she meant by that – but her context was clear.

“Homosexual marriage is going to bring about the tip of the spear of the battle we’re going to face,” Rios said Thursday to a gathering of religious right activists and pastors.”

Elves make compromise with Road Administration

Posted by doctore0 on March 19, 2015

My crazy country :)

A large and unusual rock will be moved today to make way for a new road in the municipality of Álftanes, close to Reykjavík. An announcement from the Icelandic Road Administration states that the rock will be placed by the side of the road close to similar rock formations.

“A pact between elves and men,” explains clairvoyant Ragnhildur Jónsdóttir who wrote to the Mayor of Garðabær on behalf of the elves in 2012.
A controversial road project

Moving the rock has been somewhat controversial and the new placement of the rock is no coincidence. In 2013 the story of this rock, believed to be the legendary Ófeigskirkja- an elf church- made international news.
Galadriel, the Lady of Lórien as she appears in Peter Jackson’s film version of Tolkien’s …

“Elf advocates have joined forces with environmentalists to urge the Icelandic Road and Coastal Commission and local authorities to abandon a highway project building a direct route from the Alftanes peninsula, where the president has a home, to the Reykjavik suburb of Gardabær. They fear disturbing elf habitat and claim the area is particularly important because it contains an elf church,” wrote the Associated Press at the time.

Claims head ‘phoned God’ to punish pupils

Posted by doctore0 on March 16, 2015

Claims that a primary school head made pupils lie on the floor while she “phoned God” are being investigated by Wiltshire Council.

Sheila Jones, head of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary, Devizes, is said to have pretended to tell God the children had been naughty.

The investigation follows complaints from parents to Ofsted and to governors at the academy school.

Wiltshire Council said it was “looking at the concerns raised”.

It has confirmed that its safeguarding team is investigating a number of complaints raised by parents.

The parents had claimed their children were quiet and distressed after the punishment in the school’s prayer room which is said to have involved pupils being forced to lie face down on the floor while the head told them she was going to phone God on her mobile phone to say they had been naughty.

“The information provided raised concerns about the safety of the children,” said Ofsted in a letter responding to parents.

Turkey blocks website of its first atheist association

Posted by doctore0 on March 5, 2015

It took less than a year for a Turkish court to block the website of the country’s first official atheism association.

The Atheism Association, the first of its kind in any Muslim-majority country, was officially founded in Istanbul’s Asian-side neighborhood of Kadıköy in April 2014. However, the Gölbaşı 2nd Civil Court of Peace in Ankara has finally moved to block the association’s website, according to the group’s statement on March 3, 2015.

As of March 4, Turkish internet users could not access http://www.ateizmdernegi.org without using tools to bypass blockings, such as a VPN.

The court ruling cites Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Law, which forbids “provoking the people for hate and enmity or degrading them.”

The association has issued a statement to criticize the blocking. “Three months ago, the European Space Agency managed to put Philae on a one-km wide comet named 67P, which has a speed of 135,00p km/h, after a 3,907-day-long journey to a location 500 million km away. Meanwhile, courts in Turkey are still busy blocking websites, citing laws with vague expressions and trying to make a certain belief dominate the others,” it stated.

The Atheism Association also described the court’s decision as “a historic example of accumulating legislative, executive and judicial powers in one hand,” claiming that Turkey is “drifting away from the level of modern civilizations as fast as its judiciary system drifts away from reason.”

400 Men Cut Off Their Testicles to ‘Get Closer to God’

Posted by doctore0 on March 4, 2015

More on this madness/religion…

Indian religious “guru” Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been accused of persuading 400 of his estimated 50 million followers worldwide to cut off their own testicles to “bring them closer to God.” The incident took place in 2000 at a hospital run by the 47-year-old multi-millionaire spiritual leader in India, but has only recently come to light due to the victims’ fear of retribution from Ram Rahim’s followers, or fear of being made social outcasts if they came forward with their stories. We take a look at the investigation into the alleged manipulation, in this Lip News clip with Elliot Hill and Mark Sovel.

Durham Free School: ‘Creationism taught at’ free school facing closure

Posted by doctore0 on March 3, 2015

creationismPupils at Durham Free School were taught creationism during science lessons, according to newspaper Schools Week.

The school, which has already been ordered to close by the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, has been accused of harbouring “prejudiced views” of children from other faiths that went unchallenged by teachers.

A teacher at the school reportedly asked Year 7 pupils to complete a worksheet as part of their science homework that stated: “Only the Earth has life on it. God has designed the solar system so that the Earth can support life.”

Any school, academy or free school that is found to teach Creationism as a scientific fact would be in breach of the law and its funding agreement.

Inspectors from education standards watchdog Ofsted also said that they had found evidence of bullying, poor standards in the classroom and financial mismanagement at the free school in investigations last month.
