Fox News Priest: Obama, Like All Atheists, Can’t Be Trusted

Posted by doctore0 on May 10, 2015

“Catholic priest and Fox News contributor Father Jonathan Morris argued over the weekend that atheists were not suitable candidates for president because it was “hard to trust” someone who did not believe that God would punish them.

Sigh…

Pope to allow absolution of abortion during Holy Year

Posted by doctore0 on May 7, 2015

Uhh must have spaketh unto the lard…

Pope Francis has decreed that priests may absolve women of the “sin of a procured abortion” during Holy Year next year.

In Catholic teaching, it is normally only bishops or the Pope himself who may absolve the faithful of the sin of abortion, which leads to excommunication from the Church.

In keeping with his ministry of mercy, however, Pope Francis has extended his powers of forgiveness to those “missionaries of mercy” priests who will visit Catholic dioceses and parishes during Holy Year.

The announcement of the new measure was made in the Vatican this week by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the president of the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelisation and the Pope’s point man on the organisation of Holy Year.

“The missionaries of mercy are priests sent out by the Holy Father at the beginning of Lent. The Pope is sending them out [to dioceses and parishes] as a tangible sign of how a priest should be a man of pardon, close to everyone…”

Vaccination-exempt church revealed as Christian “Scientists”

Posted by doctore0 on April 15, 2015

So it is ok to kill kids for Jesus…

It is the question that Scott Morrison has repeatedly refused to answer.

Which is the religious organisation that qualifies children for an exemption from vaccination?

The Social Services Minister has said there was only one registered organisation that could be exempted for religious grounds, but would not say who.

“I’m not about to advertise it for fear of it having a lot of new followers on a fairly unfair basis,” he said at the weekend, after announcing other loopholes would be tightened to stop parents claiming childcare and family benefits if they refused to vaccinate their children.

An online guide produced by Mr Morrison’s own department clearly states that the exempt organisation is Church of Christ, Scientist – more generally known as the Christian Scientists.

This information is also available on the government’s ComLaw website, where an explanatory statement about exemption from immunisation requirements states that “children of practising members of the Church of Christ, Scientist are exempt”.

It explains that this “clearly advances” freedom of religion for Christian Scientists as “their religious beliefs mean they may be unwilling to access western medicine”.

Texas Church Members Accused of Starving “Demon Possessed” Toddler Then Try to Resurrect Him

Posted by doctore0 on April 15, 2015

:(
A Texas couple fled to Mexico after a failed attempt to raise a starved toddler from the dead, police said. Officers received an anonymous tip March 26 that the 2-year-old boy had died nearly a week earlier but was not reported, according to NBC News. Police went to a Balch Springs home, which also operated as a church, where they were told a “rising ceremony” had been performed four days earlier in an attempt to resurrect him, the network reported.

The child’s body was taken to Mexico the next day by his parents and other members of the Congregacional Pueblo De Dios, police said.

Investigators have not yet located the parents or church congregants.

Video of the ceremony appears to show Aracely Meza, the church’s secretary, praying and speaking in tongues over the toddler’s body, which she anoints with oils, as other congregants gather around.

Meza, who is not the child’s mother, was charged with injury to a child by omission.

A woman who knew the boy’s mother said pastors believed the child was possessed by demons, and she said the boy went 25 days without food before he died.

‘Pope Francis effect’ leads to exorcism boom

Posted by doctore0 on April 14, 2015

Crazy huh

exorcism The “Pope Francis effect” has been credited with encouraging a resurgence in faith among rank-and-file Catholics but it has also had a more unexpected consequence – a boom in the demand for exorcisms.

The Argentinian pontiff’s fire-and-brimstone language and frequent references to the Devil have helped propel belief in Beelzebub back into the mainstream of the Catholic Church, where once it was an embarrassment.

Dioceses in the UK, Italy, Spain and elsewhere have noticed a dramatic increase in the number of people claiming to be possessed and have responded by training more priests in the dark arts of how to perform exorcisms.

A week-long exorcism conference, held this week at the Pontifical University of Regina Apostolorum in Rome and endorsed by the Vatican, is being attended by around 160 Catholic priests from around the world, who insist that demonic possession is very real.
