Local reports in Moroccan say the woman was ‘possessed by Satan’, and it was decided the best way to deal with the problem was to yell religious passages at her while hitting her with the sticks.

A report by the Morocco World News said the woman’s relatives were convinced she was “possessed by the devil”, so she took the extraordinary decision to call in an exorcist.

The shocking incident took place last Friday, but the woman finally died after what the newspaper called continuous sessions of exorcism performed by a “fqih” (exorcist) in Douar Beni Salah in the Tetouan region of Morocco.

Mass exorcism of schoolkids leaves many in hysterics as priest attempts to ‘banish the Devil’

Posted by doctore0 on March 31, 2015

Organized mental illness…. aka Jesus camp

School children have been left screaming and sobbing after a priest carried out a mass exorcism on them at a religious camp.

The 1,000 young people, from schools in the town of Gryfice, north-western Poland, were attending the three-day camp to help “young people explore God and devote themselves to spiritual renewal through prayer”.

But instead of singing songs and praying, priest Tomas Wieczorek, 37, was more interested in exorcising their demons and replacing them with God.

Shocked mum Magda Rutkowska, 43, said: “On the first day he took a few of the children on stage and placed his hand on their foreheads one by one and started repeating ‘Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, come.’

“Some of the children fainted while others started crying.”

When other students went to help their semi-conscious pals, the priest commanded them to stay still, adding: “God is entering their souls and banishing the Devil.”

Some children touched by the priest began screaming while others burst out into fits of laughter.

Christians Prepare For Martyrdom To Fight Gay Marriage

Posted by doctore0 on March 22, 2015

“A religious conservative broadcaster warned Christians to “prepare for martyrdom” if the U.S. Supreme Court sanctioned marriage equality.

Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association and host of a daily radio program, did not specify what she meant by that – but her context was clear.

“Homosexual marriage is going to bring about the tip of the spear of the battle we’re going to face,” Rios said Thursday to a gathering of religious right activists and pastors.”

Elves make compromise with Road Administration

Posted by doctore0 on March 19, 2015

My crazy country :)

A large and unusual rock will be moved today to make way for a new road in the municipality of Álftanes, close to Reykjavík. An announcement from the Icelandic Road Administration states that the rock will be placed by the side of the road close to similar rock formations.

“A pact between elves and men,” explains clairvoyant Ragnhildur Jónsdóttir who wrote to the Mayor of Garðabær on behalf of the elves in 2012.
A controversial road project

Moving the rock has been somewhat controversial and the new placement of the rock is no coincidence. In 2013 the story of this rock, believed to be the legendary Ófeigskirkja- an elf church- made international news.
Galadriel, the Lady of Lórien as she appears in Peter Jackson’s film version of Tolkien’s …

“Elf advocates have joined forces with environmentalists to urge the Icelandic Road and Coastal Commission and local authorities to abandon a highway project building a direct route from the Alftanes peninsula, where the president has a home, to the Reykjavik suburb of Gardabær. They fear disturbing elf habitat and claim the area is particularly important because it contains an elf church,” wrote the Associated Press at the time.

400 Men Cut Off Their Testicles to ‘Get Closer to God’

Posted by doctore0 on March 4, 2015

More on this madness/religion…

Indian religious “guru” Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been accused of persuading 400 of his estimated 50 million followers worldwide to cut off their own testicles to “bring them closer to God.” The incident took place in 2000 at a hospital run by the 47-year-old multi-millionaire spiritual leader in India, but has only recently come to light due to the victims’ fear of retribution from Ram Rahim’s followers, or fear of being made social outcasts if they came forward with their stories. We take a look at the investigation into the alleged manipulation, in this Lip News clip with Elliot Hill and Mark Sovel.

Another Charlie Hebdo in Bangladesh, atheist blogger Avijit Roy hacked to death

Posted by doctore0 on February 27, 2015

:(

DHAKA, Bangladesh — A prominent U.S. blogger, known for his writing against religious fundamentalism, has been hacked to death by unidentified attackers in Bangladesh’s capital, police said Friday.

The attack on Avijit Roy, a Bangladesh-born U.S. citizen, took place late Thursday when he and his wife Rafida Ahmed, who was seriously injured in the attack, were returning from a book fair at Dhaka University.

It was not known who was behind the attack, but Roy’s family and friends say he was a prominent voice against religious fanatics and received threats in the past. No groups have claimed the responsibility.

The local police chief, Sirajul Islam, told The Associated Press that the assailants used cleavers to attack Roy and his wife, who is also a blogger.

“Several attackers took part in the attack and at least two assailants hit them directly,” Islam said, adding that two blood-stained cleavers were found after the attack.

Roy had founded a popular Bengali-language blog — Mukto-mona, or Free Mind — in which articles on scientific reasoning and religious extremism featured prominently.

Idaho Republican backs faith-healer parents: ‘If I want to let my child be with God, why is that wrong?

Posted by doctore0 on February 25, 2015

insane

faith-healers-hospitalsAn Idaho Republican said a proposed ban on faith-healing could violate the religious rights of her constituents – many of whom eschew medical care for themselves and their families.

“They have a clear understanding of what the role of government should be – (and it) isn’t how to tell me how to live my life,” said state Rep. Christy Perry (R-Nampa).

Legislation limiting a faith exemption for medical care in the state’s child neglect law was proposed after a string of preventable child deaths in Marsing among members of the Followers of Christ Church.

State Rep. John Gannon (D-Boise) wants to narrow the loophole to permit prosecution of parents who rely on faith-healing “whenever a child’s medical condition may cause death or permanent disability.”

But Perry insists Followers of Christ have a First Amendment right to deny medical care to their children on religious grounds, arguing that they are perhaps more comfortable confronting death, reported Al Jazeera America.

“Children do die,” Perry said. “I’m not trying to sound callous, but (reformers) want to act as if death is an anomaly. But it’s not — it’s a way of life.”
