More children are “growing up godless” than at any other time in our nation’s history. They are the offspring of an expanding secular population that includes a relatively new and burgeoning category of Americans called the “Nones,” so nicknamed because they identified themselves as believing in “nothing in particular” in a 2012 study by the Pew Research Center.

U.S. tax law allows television preachers to get away with almost anything. We know this from personal experience.
Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption will not be able to accept donations from Church supporters from the states of Mississippi, Nevada, Pennsylvania, or South Carolina. We apologize for any inconvenience

Gawd is money
FRANKLINTON, La. — U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite charged a Northshore pastor with hiding money to avoid reporting it to the federal government. The pastor, Jerry Wayne Cox, is a close friend of former St. Tammany Parish District Attorney Walter Reed.
The bill of information accuses Cox of one count of structuring, essentially moving more than $100,000 around to avoid reporting it. The charge involves financial transactions from 2011 when Cox allegedly deposited $70,000 into one bank, took a portion out in cash, then deposited almost all the rest in another bank. Cox allegedly withdrew most of that cash from the second bank.
Cox’s church, Faith Tabernacle, is a Pentecostal church with its opulence hidden in plain view in a small town outside Franklinton in rural Washington Parish.
The 72-year-old pastor built the church over the years. Cox lives in a multi-million dollar mansion a few miles from Faith Tabernacle. That home sits behind an iron gate gilded with his name on it

:( Stupid religion of peace.
A Bangladeshi blogger known for his secular views has been hacked to death by a gang armed with machetes in Dhaka, activists and police say.
Niloy Neel was reportedly attacked at his home in the capital’s Goran area.
He is the fourth secularist blogger to have been killed this year by suspected Islamist militants in Bangladesh.

My summer vacation is over, maybe I will post more… or not :)
A lawsuit recently filed against a teacher at Forest Park Elementary School in Indiana alleged that a 7-year-old student was “banished” from sitting with other students at lunch after he revealed that he did not believe in God.
According to the lawsuit obtained by The Washington Post, second grade teacher Michelle Myer interrogated the student, who was identified with the initials A.B., about his religious beliefs after he told his classmates on the playground that he did not go to church because he did not believe in God.
As a result, the child was ordered to sit by himself during lunch for a three-day period.
“The defendant’s actions caused great distress to A.B. and resulted in the child being ostracized by his peers past the three-day ‘banishment.’”
“Ms. Meyer asked A.B. if he had told the girl that he did not believe in God and A.B. said he had and asked what he had done wrong,” the lawsuit explained. “Ms. Meyer asked A.B. if he went to church, whether his family went to church, and whether his mother knew how he felt about God… She also asked A.B. if he believed that maybe God exists.”
Several days later, Meyer sent A.B. to talk to another adult at the school, who “reinforced his feeling that he had done something very wrong,” the lawsuit said.
