Charges initiated against Pope for crimes against humanity

Posted by doctore0 on February 23, 2011

About frigging time, the whole church/ organized religion is a crime against humanity..

TWO GERMAN lawyers have initiated charges against Pope Benedict XVI at the International Criminal Court, alleging crimes against humanity.

Christian Sailer and Gert-Joachim Hetzel, based at Marktheidenfeld in the Pope’s home state of Bavaria, last week submitted a 16,500-word document to the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court at the Hague, Dr Luis Moreno Ocampo.

Their charges concern “three worldwide crimes which until now have not been denounced . . . (as) the traditional reverence toward ‘ecclesiastical authority’ has clouded the sense of right and wrong”.

They claim the Pope “is responsible for the preservation and leadership of a worldwide totalitarian regime of coercion which subjugates its members with terrifying and health-endangering threats”.

They allege he is also responsible for “the adherence to a fatal forbiddance of the use of condoms, even when the danger of HIV-Aids infection exists” and for “the establishment and maintenance of a worldwide system of cover-up of the sexual crimes committed by Catholic priests and their preferential treatment, which aids and abets ever new crimes”.

They claim the Catholic Church “acquires its members through a compulsory act, namely, through the baptism of infants that do not yet have a will of their own”. This act was “irrevocable” and is buttressed by threats of excommunication and the fires of hell.

I haven’t thought of infant baptism as forcing the will. You may be right. You could view any association with any church at a young age as a manipulation of the will. However, I think parents have a right to bring up their children in the things they believe are true. To them, not to do so would constitute neglect.

The parents are victims too; They also went through the brainwashing process

That’s not an accurate statement. Plenty of people change religions and ideas. You can’t claim brainwashing just because they choose a particular idea. There are also some folks that grow up in the religion and choose to stay in it after weighing the opposition. You can’t just assume these people are ignorant and uninformed.

Childhood indoctrination can/is a hell to get out of; Religions know that, that’s why they target children most of all.

Are you saying that brainwashed people are brainwashing children so they can all be miserable (in hell) together? “They know it’s hell so they force hell on others.”

Speaking as a religious person, I do not apologize for my religion, nor do I apologize for bringing up my children in the things I believe are true. You will do the same thing with your children. The difference is I won’t call what you’re doing child abuse.

I don’t tell my children what to believe, I tell them to question everything, including me.

And I respect your right to tell your children to question everything. Please have mutual respect for my rights.

Daniel, please respect your children’s right to know the truth; Give them better options than you had.
God(s), they make no sense; They are nothing but man made things to control us, nothing more, nothing less; Besides religions clearly state that gods are jerks, assholes, tyrants, mass murderers. Religion is the ultimate blasphemy.
