Alleged Abuse Victim Arrested in Priest’s Brutal Beating

Posted by doctore0 on October 31, 2010

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 30) — William Lynch’s life spiraled out of control in the 35 years since he alleges he and his brother were molested by a Jesuit priest: He struggled with depression, had nightmares and tried to kill himself twice.

Authorities believe that anger and pain erupted when Lynch lured the Rev. Jerold Lindner to the lobby of his Jesuit retirement home by pretending he had news of a death in the priest’s family and beat him severely in front of shocked witnesses.

Harris alleged that the boys, who were 7 and 5 at the time, were raped in the woods and forced to have oral sex with each other while Lindner watched. Lindner has been accused of abuse by nearly a dozen people, including his own sister and nieces and nephews.

Most of Lindner’s family severed contact with him years ago after discovering he had molested his nieces and nephews when they were as young as 3.

Pope to kids: Beware of love as shown on Internet

Posted by doctore0 on October 30, 2010

The leader of the largest/oldest paedophile cult has spoken

Pope Benedict XVI cautioned young people Saturday about the presentation of love on the Internet, saying they risk losing respect by pursuing affection being pitched like “merchandise.”

“Much love is proposed by the media and Internet, but this isn’t love but selfishness,” Benedict told some 100,000 Catholic children from throughout Italy.

Catholics sexually abused by clergy as children planned to hold a rally on Sunday. Organizers said earlier in the week that the Vatican refused to allow them to gather in St. Peter’s Square, so they will hold it a few hundred yards (meters) away in Rome.

At Saturday’s appearance, the pope spoke about the special role educators have for children. But he made no reference to the scandals worldwide that have rocked the Catholic church: priests who systematically abused children in their care, and pastors and bishops who repeatedly tried to cover up the sexual abuse.

Benedict encouraged youths in the square to keep their standards high when searching for love.

“You cannot and should not get used to love that’s reduced to merchandise for barter, to consume without respect for oneself and for others, incapable of chastity and purity,” the pope said. “This isn’t freedom.”

Such love provides “the emotion of a moment but won’t make you happy, won’t make you grow up,” he added.

The pope told the children that being among them “rejuvenated” him, and he reminisced a bit about his own childhood. He recalled how when he was a boy he wanted to not only to grow taller in stature but also do something “big” with his life when he grew up.

Victims: Child sex abuse is crime against humanity

Posted by doctore0 on October 30, 2010

Human rights are above the imaginary magic man fanboy laws.

ROME (AP) — People who were raped and molested by priests are gathering in Rome this weekend to launch a petition demanding the United Nations designate systematic sexual abuse of children as a crime against humanity.

Organizers said the Sunday gathering would mark the first time that abuse survivors from around the world will gather for a day of healing and to demand greater accountability from the Vatican. A few hundred people from a dozen countries are expected.

FAITH & REASON: Victims reject pope’s apologies, seek action

Organizers had hoped to stage the demonstration in St. Peter’s Square, but said they had to move it a few hundred meters (yards) away because the Holy See declined to give them access.

Organizer Gary Bergeron, abused as an altar boy by a Boston-area priest, said Friday the issue needs to be treated as a global one.

“If it can happen in an institution like the Catholic Church, it can happen anywhere,” he told reporters at the Foreign Press Association. “If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.”

Bergeron and co-organizer Bernie McDaid, also abused by a Boston-area priest starting in the sixth grade, were two of the more prominent survivors of clerical abuse to emerge after the sex abuse scandal erupted in Boston in 2002.

Catholic news: Belgian archbishop wants mercy for elderly “child abusing” priests

Posted by doctore0 on October 29, 2010

Mercy… mercy; They RAPED children; No mercy possible; In jail with them and throw away the key, same goes for the enabler, the pope.

The head of the Belgian Catholic church, recently hit by a major child abuse scandal, on Wednesday called for mercy for elderly priests facing such allegations.

Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard, a conservative close to Pope Benedict XVI who has headed the Belgian church since January, said retired priests should be spared what could be tantamount to “a sort of vengeance.”

Priests who abused children in their care, he told RTBF television, “must obviously be conscious of what happened in their lives, but if they’re no longer working, if they have no responsibilities, I’m not sure that exercising a sort of vengeance that will have no concrete result is humane.”

Asked whether it was a good thing to punish abusers, he said “If they’re still active, certainly.”

“But do they (the victims) really want an 85-year-old priest, all of a sudden, pilloried in public?”

The church has been reeling from a pedophile scandal after a church commission last month revealed nearly 500 cases of abuse by priests since the 1950s, including 13 victims who committed suicide.
